  • The Hotel, Reimagined

Within the urban-tropical context of Pererenan, on the cusp of Bali’s southwest coast, Further’s four sites form a singular concept, each pairing intimate guest suites with common spaces open to local sights, sounds, and rhythms. In the transitions between experiences, opportunities catalyse for encounters, exchange and togetherness.

THE UNLIKELY JOURNEY OF  FURTHER HOTEL’S TRANSFORMATION

The tale of FURTHER Hotel’s transformation began in the early 2020s, during a time when the world was grappling with uncertainty. Amidst this challenging period, the hotel set out on a mission to distinguish itself by creating a brand that infused its rooms with both warmth and a touch of sophistication. Initially, the search for the perfect interior designer led the team to Annabell Kutucu, a renowned figure based in Berlin.

However, destiny had a different plan. While exploring various design options, the team unexpectedly came across Noema, a newly established restaurant in Mykonos that immediately captured their attention. The restaurant’s creative director, operating under the name Lambs and Lions, was none other than their good friend Michael, the visionary behind the famed Scorpios in Mykonos. Intrigued by Noema’s elegant interior, the FURTHER team discovered that Amy, of Studio Wenden was the interior stylist behind the project.

This discovery marked a turning point for FURTHER Hotel. Impressed by the sophistication and artistry of Noema’s design, the team decided to pursue a collaboration with Amy to redefine the aesthetic of both FURTHER Hotel and BAR VERA. Before reaching out to Amy, the team sought and received Michael’s enthusiastic blessing, which paved the way for their first conversation with her.

Journey with Amy from Studio Wenden began with this inspiring meeting

During this initial discussion, Amy, who was in the midst of relocating from Berlin to Australia, graciously accepted the project. Her kind-hearted nature and deep expertise in design immediately resonated with the FURTHER team, signaling the beginning of a fruitful partnership. Studio Wenden’s approach, which is characterised by a deep engagement with locality and a timeless sense of belonging, perfectly aligned with FURTHER’s vision.

The Touch of Craftsmanship: Luxury Meets Art at FURTHER Hotel

The partnership with Studio Wenden extended beyond interior design. Amy and Martine McGrath a part owner of Further, co-developed a purposeful lifestyle brand called Object, which has since become a key provider for the hotel. This initiative added another layer of uniqueness to FURTHER Hotel, further enhancing the guest experience with thoughtfully curated pieces that reflect the same dedication to quality and craftmanship seen throughout the hotel’s design.
